Vortex manufactures the insert from solid carbide and supplies it individually for service or profile replacement. The INS-9101 fits both the standard 9101 body and the 9101 1/2 body variant, allowing the same rounded-edge insert profile to be used across the verified body options.
The official Vortex system drawing identifies retaining screw 67115 with a 4.0 mm × 0.7 thread and 0.230-inch length. Correct insert seating, clean contact surfaces, matched hardware, and even tightening are essential before returning the cutter body to production.
