Feedback Return Conveyor for Shapers, Sanders & Edge Foilers

Doucet Feedback is a continuous-flow return conveyor for shapers, profile sanders, sanders and edge foilers. Available 24- or 36-inch conveyor widths, a 36-inch standard receiving table, a 60-inch extended receiving option, variable-speed feed rollers, adjustable fence-line support, polymer lateral-transfer belts and individually driven return rollers positioned 2 inches below host-machine pass height define the core layout.

Production problem

Continuous-feed sanding, profiling and edge-foiling cells can send a steady stream of parts away from the operator.

Machine mechanism

Feed rollers receive the part, top rollers and an adjustable ledge stabilize it, polymer belts side-shift it, and powered return rollers bring it back.

Configuration choices

Select 24- or 36-inch conveyor width and a 36-inch or extended 60-inch receiving table to suit the host machine and part family.

36" standard receive
60" extended receive option

Start with the production problem

Return continuously fed parts to the operator without introducing a stop-and-cycle return sequence.

Feedback is built around continuous material flow from the host machine through receiving, stabilization, lateral transfer and powered return.

Receiving

Receive from the process machine

Variable-speed motor-driven feed rollers guide the part onto the receiving module.

Support

Stabilize the incoming part

Top rollers smooth the transfer while an adjustable ledge continues the host machine's reference fence.

Transfer

Shift laterally

Polymer belts move the panel or door component sideways toward the return rollers.

Return

Return below pass height

Individually driven return rollers sit 2 inches below host-machine pass height so opposing flows can overlap without interference.

Application fit

Best fit: continuous-feed sanding, profiling and edge-foiling cells.

Feedback is configured around the host process machine, its reference line, part family and return layout.

Strong fit

Shapers / profile sanders

Direct Feedback application for continuous-feed profiling and shaping cells.

Strong fit

Sanders

Continuous return for sanding cells where processed parts need to come back to the operator.

Strong fit

Edge foilers

Direct Feedback application for edge-foiling cells.

Workflow

Door and panel components

Suitable part families are qualified from the real workpiece envelope, support needs and host-machine geometry.

Select the Feedback configuration from the host cell backwards

Width, receiving-table length and return geometry are the key configuration decisions.

Start with the host machine and workpiece family, then close the conveyor width, receiving-table length and final return geometry.

Define the host machine

Shaper, profile sander, sander or edge foiler; model, pass height, machine length and reference-fence position.

Define the parts

Actual minimum/maximum L × W × T, weight, material and representative part mix.

Choose 24" or 36"

Match receiving and return conveyor width to the host machine and workpiece family.

Choose 36" or extended 60"

Use the 36-inch standard receiving table or the 60-inch extended receiving option according to the application.

Close return geometry

Return length follows the host machine; specialized inclined or quick-release layouts are configuration dependent.

Machine architecture / work cycle

Receive → stabilize → side-shift → return continuously.

The material path stays continuous from host-machine outfeed through the lower return line.

Receive

1 — Feed rollers

Variable-speed rollers guide the workpiece into the receiving module.

Stabilize

2 — Top rollers + ledge

Upper rollers support smooth transfer while the adjustable ledge continues the reference fence.

Transfer

3 — Polymer belts

Lateral belts side-shift the part toward the return conveyor.

Return

4 — Powered return rollers

Individually driven rollers return the part while the system remains in continuous-flow operation.

Receiving-zone detail

Powered feed rollers and an adjustable ledge establish a controlled reference into the return system.

The receiving zone combines variable-speed feed rollers, top support and a ledge aligned with the host machine's reference fence.

Receiving and reference support

Guide the workpiece into the receiving table while maintaining the host-machine reference line.

Variable-speed feed rollers move the part into the receiving module. Top rollers support the transfer and the adjustable ledge continues the reference fence.

Receiving speed is adjustable through the variable-speed drive; the final setting is matched to the host process and workpiece flow.

Core conveyor geometry, support architecture and return arrangement stay tied to the selected Feedback configuration.

The 36-inch and 60-inch figures are receiving-table lengths; the 24-inch and 36-inch figures are conveyor-width configurations.

Width / receiving-length configurations

Two conveyor widths. One standard receiving length. One extended receiving option.

Choose the configuration from the host machine and actual part envelope rather than treating machine geometry as a workpiece limit.

Width

24" conveyor width

Available receiving and return conveyor width configuration.

Width

36" conveyor width

Available receiving and return conveyor width configuration.

Standard

36" receiving table

Standard receiving-table length.

Extended option

60" receiving table

Extended receiving-table option for applications requiring additional receiving support.

Top-roller support

Upper rollers stabilize the workpiece as it crosses into the receiving module.

Top rollers support smooth transfer while the adjustable ledge maintains the host-machine reference line.

Workpiece support

Keep the part controlled through the transition from process machine to return conveyor.

The top-roller set supports the workpiece as it moves onto the receiving table, while the reference ledge maintains alignment into the lateral-transfer zone.

Support requirements are qualified from the real part length, width, thickness, weight and surface condition.

Return-roller architecture

Individually driven rollers linked by welded urethane belts.

The powered return line brings material back to the operator 2 inches below the host-machine pass height.

Lower return line

Separate outgoing and returning material flow by elevation.

Individually driven return rollers carry the workpiece back while the 2-inch vertical offset separates opposing product flow.

The 2-inch dimension is the relationship between the return line and host-machine pass height.

Inclined return / quick-release configuration

A specialized inclined-return arrangement is available for specific host-machine applications.

The Feedback line includes a configuration tied to Unique Shape and Sand 4522 or 4524 applications equipped with the squaring-table option.

Specialized return layout

Inclined return and quick-release mobility are configuration-specific.

Use application review to confirm host-machine fit, return geometry, access requirements and the final removable or mobile return arrangement.

This specialized return layout is not treated as universal base Feedback geometry.

Ownership / changeover

Keep Feedback configuration tied to the installed host machine and part family.

Width, receiving-table length, return geometry and reference alignment should remain documented as one cell configuration.

Configuration

Width record

Document the installed 24- or 36-inch receiving and return conveyor configuration.

Configuration

Receiving-table length

Document the 36-inch standard or 60-inch extended receiving-table configuration.

Ownership

Material-flow surfaces

Feed rollers, top rollers, reference ledge, polymer belts and urethane-driven return rollers form the handling path.

Safety

Qualified service

Drive, electrical, guarding and conveyor service should follow the installed Feedback and host-machine procedures.

Production-cell integration

The host machine defines return length, fence reference and pass-height relationship.

Feedback is configured around the process cell rather than treated as a one-footprint-fits-all conveyor.

Host-machine outfeed

Workpiece enters the variable-speed feed rollers.

Top support + ledge

The part remains stabilized along the reference-fence continuation.

Lateral transfer

Polymer belts move the part toward the return line.

Lower powered return

Individually driven rollers return the part 2 inches below pass height.

Operator receives

The part returns for the next process step while the conveyor stays in continuous flow.
