High-Productivity Pressing for Structural Timber & Large Glued Panels

The SCM Sergiani GSL-KL is built for manufacturers producing large-format lamellar panels, edge-glued beam panels, structural timber panels, roof systems, bridge components, and engineered wood assemblies. It is a specialized pressing platform for shops that need controlled vertical thrust, lateral side pressure, panel flatness, gluing quality, and configurable automatic handling around the production workflow.

Key Advantages

The GSL-KL is not a decorative-panel press or standard hot press. It is a structural timber and lamellar-panel production machine designed around vertical flatness control, side-thrust gluing pressure, large panel formats, and automatic production flow.

Built for Large Panels

Designed for automatic production of large-sized lamellar panels, edge-glued timber panels, and structural glued assemblies.

Vertical Thrust for Flatness

Vertical platen thrust supports finished-panel flatness, which is critical for structural timber, roof, bridge, and large glued-panel applications.

Side Thrust for Glue Quality

Lateral pressure is sized to the panel thickness, supporting proper side pressure distribution and gluing consistency.

Configurable Production Flow

The press can be reviewed with composition systems and automatic loading or unloading systems according to the glue system and working cycle.

Applications

Lamellar Panel Production

Purpose-built for lamellar panels used in structural and construction applications, including roof and bridge-related timber elements.

Edge-Glued Beam Panels

Fits glued timber components, structural panel sections, edge-glued beam panels, and engineered wood panel production.

Timber Construction Panels

Strong fit for timber construction suppliers producing large-format glued panels for roofs, cantilever roofs, bridges, and structural wood systems.

Automated Press Lines

Can be reviewed with automatic loading, unloading, panel staging, infeed, outfeed, and composition solutions for higher-throughput production.

Machine Information

The SCM Sergiani GSL-KL is a high-productivity press for lamellar panel production and edge-glued structural timber panels. It is designed for manufacturers producing panels used in roofs, cantilever roofs, bridges, structural elements, engineered wood systems, glulam-style panels, and large-format glued timber assemblies.

The machine’s production quality is built around two pressure systems. Vertical thrust from the press platen supports finished-panel flatness, while lateral side thrust is sized according to the working thickness of the product. This matters in structural timber applications where pressure distribution, flatness, and gluing consistency directly affect production quality.

The GSL-KL can be configured around different composition systems and automatic loading or unloading systems depending on the manufacturer’s production requirements. This allows the press conversation to include the glue system, open time, production cycle, panel staging, infeed and outfeed handling, and the desired automation level rather than treating the machine as a standalone manual press.

SCM lists three maximum recommended working-thickness families for the GSL-KL platform: 40 mm, 80 mm, and 150 mm. Across the range, platen dimensions run from 2500 × 1300 mm to 5300 × 1300 mm, vertical thrust ranges from 50 to 110 tons, lateral thrust ranges from 7.5 to 77 tons depending on thickness and version, and cylinder stroke is listed at 200 mm across the official model range.

Thickness Family Positioning

40 mm Thickness Family

Best reviewed for thinner lamellar and structural glued-panel work where lateral thrust requirements are lower and panel format is the main sizing driver.

80 mm Thickness Family

Middle thickness family for heavier timber-panel production requiring increased side thrust while maintaining the same model-length range.

150 mm Thickness Family

Heavy structural timber family for thicker glued-panel products where side thrust rises significantly and gluing pressure becomes a major quote driver.

GSL-KL vs GSL-A Positioning

Sergiani GSL-KL

Best for lamellar panels and structural timber panel applications where thickness, side thrust, flatness, gluing quality, and configurable loading or composition systems are the main drivers.

Sergiani GSL-A

Best reviewed when the conversation is specifically continuous edge-glued beam panel production with automated composition, loading, and unloading workflow.

Technical Features

The Sergiani GSL-KL is a high-productivity structural timber and lamellar-panel press. Final specifications depend on the selected thickness family, platen size, vertical thrust, lateral thrust, glue system, composition method, automatic loading/unloading package, and timber production line layout.
