Machine Overview

Compact upright panel sizing with independent scoring support for cleaner horizontal and vertical cuts.

The SCM Gabbiani VSI is a professional vertical panel saw for cabinet, closet, furniture, casework, fixture, and architectural millwork operations that need accurate sheet sizing without the floor-space demand of a horizontal beam-saw cell.

VSI32 and VSI42 configurations provide 3200 mm or 4200 mm horizontal and vertical cutting length. Both formats list 60 mm maximum cutting thickness, a 250 mm main blade, 5300 rpm blade speed, and 3.7 kW motor power.

Independent motors for the main blade and scoring unit, mechanical scorer plunging, an electro-welded frame, four mechanical positioners for horizontal cuts, and one stop for vertical cuts support practical handling and improved edge quality on coated and surface-sensitive panels.

Capability Matrix

One compact vertical panel saw. Five focused cutting-room capabilities.

The Gabbiani VSI combines upright sheet support, horizontal and vertical cutting, independent scoring, and practical mechanical positioning in a compact professional platform.

Mode 01

Vertical Panel Cutting

Processes full-size sheets and panel components vertically while the material remains supported against the machine frame.

Mode 02

Horizontal Panel Cutting

Supports horizontal sizing for cabinet parts, shelves, partitions, backs, furniture panels, and other sheet-good components.

Mode 03

Scored Surface Cutting

Independent main-blade and scoring-unit motors with mechanical scorer plunging support cleaner edges on coated and laminated materials.

Mode 04

Mechanical Panel Positioning

Four mechanical positioners for horizontal cuts and one stop for vertical cuts support repeat dimensions and practical daily setup.

Mode 05

Compact Upright Handling

The vertical architecture keeps panels upright and concentrates sheet sizing into a smaller floor area than many horizontal workflows.

Production Advantages

Built for cleaner panel edges, compact floor use, and controlled upright handling.

The VSI adds scoring support and a stable vertical machine structure to the daily cutting workflow for coated, laminated, and general wood-based panels.

Improved Surface-Sensitive Cutting

Independent scoring support helps reduce edge damage when processing melamine, laminate, veneered panels, and other finished sheet materials.

Compact Production Footprint

The upright layout supports professional panel sizing without the large loading and outfeed footprint associated with many horizontal saw systems.

Stable Frame and Panel Support

The electro-welded frame and dedicated panel-support layout help maintain a controlled relationship between the sheet, saw carriage, and cut line.

Manual Sheet Breakdown

Track Saw or Sliding-Table Saw

Suitable for lower-volume work where the operator manually stages, measures, supports, and repositions the sheet for each cut.

Conventional Vertical Cutting

Basic Vertical Panel Saw

Adds upright sheet support and a dedicated vertical cutting station for compact panel breakdown and repeat sizing.

Scored Professional Vertical Saw

SCM Gabbiani VSI32 / VSI42

Adds independent main-blade and scoring motors, mechanical scorer plunging, 3200 mm or 4200 mm formats, and professional upright panel handling.

Production Environments

Where the Gabbiani VSI Fits

A practical panel-sizing platform for shops that need upright handling, scoring support, and a compact professional cutting station.

Cabinet and Closet Manufacturing

Cuts sides, shelves, partitions, backs, fillers, drawer parts, and system panels before edgebanding, boring, CNC work, or assembly.

Furniture and Casework Production

Supports repeat sizing of MDF, plywood, particleboard, melamine, laminate, and veneered components for furniture and casework.

Architectural Millwork and Panel Processing

Fits decorative-panel, wall-panel, fixture, custom millwork, school, and mixed sheet-goods environments with limited floor space.

Compact Panel Cutting · Scored Edge Quality

A vertical panel saw that brings professional sheet sizing into a clean, organized, space-conscious cutting station.

The Gabbiani VSI keeps large panels supported upright while the saw carriage manages horizontal and vertical cutting across the machine frame.

Independent main-blade and scorer motorization gives coated, laminated, and veneered materials a more suitable cutting approach than a basic single-blade vertical saw.

For cabinet, closet, furniture, casework, and architectural millwork operations, the result is a dedicated panel-sizing workflow that fits naturally ahead of edgebanding, boring, CNC machining, finishing, and assembly.
