SCM Cut C 50
SCM Packaging Systems / Entry-Level Right-Size Box Production
SCM Cut C 50
Entry-level automatic right-size cardboard packaging machine for small batch and batch-one box production.
The SCM Cut C 50 gives small and growing manufacturers a practical first step into automated right-size cardboard packaging. It is built for shops that ship variable-size products and need custom boxes without moving into the larger Cut C 100 or Cut C 200 platforms.
Production Positioning
The smallest practical step into custom right-size packaging.
The SCM Cut C 50 is built for manufacturers that need to clean up end-of-line packaging without oversizing the packaging department. It gives shops a compact automatic platform for creating custom cardboard boxes around the actual product dimensions.
For cabinet shops, furniture manufacturers, closet companies, millwork suppliers, panel processors, and small eCommerce operations, the Cut C 50 helps reduce the common packaging problems that come from variable product sizes: too many carton formats, too much empty space, too much filler material, and too much manual box selection.
The machine is positioned as the entry-level model in SCM’s Cut C range. It is a strong fit when the customer needs right-size boxes, small-batch flexibility, barcode workflow capability, fanfold cardboard handling, and a compact first step into automated packaging.
Best-fit packaging environment
The Cut C 50 fits shops where packaging is already creating labour, storage, and material waste, but the required volume does not yet call for a larger packaging system.
Key Advantages
Right-size packaging without overbuilding the line.
The Cut C 50 is designed for companies that want to move away from oversized cartons and manual packaging decisions. It helps create a more organized packaging process while keeping the machine position practical for smaller production environments.
Entry-level automation
Provides a practical first step into automatic custom box production for shops that do not yet require the larger Cut C 100 or Cut C 200 systems.
Right-size box production
Produces custom cardboard boxes around product dimensions, reducing the need to force parts into pre-made cartons that do not fit the order.
Compact packaging fit
Designed as a functional and compact platform for production environments where floor space, carton storage, and operator handling all matter.
Barcode workflow support
Operators can recall the required box from the interface or use barcode workflow logic to transmit product dimensions for the packaging process.
Applications
Built for small batch, batch-one, and mixed-size product packaging.
The SCM Cut C 50 is suited for manufacturers shipping products that vary by order, project, size, or production batch.
Cabinet & Closet Components
A strong fit for cabinet doors, shelves, closet verticals, finished ends, fillers, drawer parts, panels, and mixed cabinet components that vary by job.
Furniture & Flat-Pack
Useful for small-to-medium furniture operations packaging assembled parts, kit furniture, custom components, and variable product sizes.
Millwork & Panel Parts
Supports millwork parts, decorative panels, trim components, door parts, finished panels, and custom one-off shipments.
Batch-One Packaging
Fits order-by-order production where every shipment may require a different box size, format, or packaging approach.
Small eCommerce Shipping
A practical option for small eCommerce furniture, component, and specialty product operations that ship mixed-size products.
Carton Inventory Reduction
Helps reduce the amount of floor space and handling tied up in storing many different pre-made carton formats.
Machine Information
Compact automatic packaging for shops ready to control box production.
The SCM Cut C 50 is the compact entry-level model in SCM’s Cut C cardboard packaging range. It is designed for companies that need flexible right-size packaging for small batch or order-by-order production.
The Cut C 50 uses longitudinal cutting and creasing units plus a transverse unit to create different box sizes and formats. This allows the packaging department to produce boxes around the product requirements instead of depending on a large range of pre-made carton sizes.
SCM positions the Cut C 50 as an entry-level solution for small batch production and maximum flexibility in batch-one workflows. It is the right conversation when a shop needs to reduce box chaos, filler material, and packaging labour, but does not yet have the volume or requirement profile for a Cut C 100 or Cut C 200.
The machine can be configured with a standard unwinding structure for two fanfolds or an optional four-fanfold unwinding structure with automatic selector. The optional four-fanfold rack uses a two-layer structure where each layer can hold two fanfolds side by side, allowing up to four carton formats to be available to the machine.
For software and control, the Cut C 50 uses Active Box PRO Light with an industrial PC on a movable support. The software supports packaging templates, customer box archives, production lists, box orientation, networked production-data transmission, production reports, remote SQL queries, cardboard-type archives, and assisted help desk support.
For Canadian manufacturers, the final machine package should be reviewed around the actual packaging workflow. Confirm fanfold configuration, barcode requirements, label requirements, cardboard type and thickness, product dimension range, boxes per shift, ERP or WMS integration, network requirements, compressed air, voltage, footprint, operator workflow, safety access, installation, training, warranty, and service support.

Final machine configuration should always be confirmed against the quote package, selected fanfold rack, box workflow, cardboard supplier, plant layout, and production requirements.
Where This Machine Fits
A compact packaging upgrade for shops outgrowing manual box handling.
