SCM Omal HG2
SCM Omal HG2 Automatic Hinge Drilling & Insertion Machine
A dedicated hardware insertion station for cabinet-door production, combining hinge boring and automatic hinge insertion into one repeatable cycle.
Turn hinge prep into a dedicated, repeatable door-department station.
The SCM Omal HG2 is an automatic drilling and inserting machine for cabinet hinges. It is designed for cabinet doors and panel components where concealed-hinge boring and hinge insertion need to be fast, repeatable, and less dependent on hand layout or manual pressing.
For Titan, the HG2 should be positioned as a focused production improvement for cabinet shops, closet manufacturers, refacing operations, casegoods producers, and panel shops that run enough doors for manual hinge boring to become a bottleneck.
Best-fit shop profile
The HG2 is the right machine conversation when doors are stacking up at the hardware stage, hinge setback varies by operator, or manual hinge drilling and pressing are slowing the door department.
Automatic bottom drilling, automatic hinge insertion, digital setup support, and hardware workflow consistency.
The HG2 gives cabinet-door departments a 1500 mm working field, adjustable left/right reference stops, fixed first head, manually positioned second head with digital readout, automatic bottom drilling, removable hinge magazines, panel-presence sensing, and inductive hinge-presence protection.
Drill and insert in one cycle
The HG2 combines hinge boring and hinge insertion into one automatic machine cycle, reducing separate handling and manual pressing steps.
Two-head hinge workflow
The first head is fixed while the second head can be repositioned with brake release and digital readout support for common door layouts.
Quick-release magazines
Removable automatic hinge-loading magazines support faster changeover and help keep the door-prep workflow moving.
Built-in sensing logic
Panel-presence sensing and hinge-presence detection help reduce operator mistakes, protect tooling, and improve daily production reliability.
Built for cabinet doors, closet doors, panel doors, refacing work, and repeated concealed-hinge installation.
The HG2 is not a general-purpose CNC boring centre. It is a focused hinge drilling and insertion station for shops that want faster, cleaner, more repeatable concealed-hinge preparation.
Cabinet Manufacturing
Strong fit for kitchen cabinet doors, vanity doors, tall doors, base and wall cabinet doors, and repeat concealed-hinge layouts.
Closet & Storage Systems
Useful for closet doors, wardrobe doors, garage storage doors, utility cabinet doors, and repeated hinge-boring patterns.
Door Departments
Ideal as a dedicated door-prep station where hinge drilling and insertion are separated from casework drilling or CNC machining.
Refacing & Renovation
Practical for replacement doors, refacing packages, repeat door batches, and hinge setup consistency across changing door sizes.
Furniture & Casegoods
Fits panel doors, storage units, institutional cabinetry, office furniture doors, and other repeated concealed-hinge applications.
Hardware Bottleneck Relief
Helps reduce manual drilling, hand pressing, hinge cup cleanup, operator fatigue, inconsistent setback, and staged-door buildup.
SCM Omal HG2
A dedicated automatic drilling and hinge-insertion machine for cabinet-door and panel-door production.
The SCM Omal HG2 is a dedicated automatic drilling and hinge-insertion machine for cabinet-door and panel-door production. It is designed for shops that want to reduce the time and inconsistency associated with manual hinge boring and manual hinge pressing.
By combining bottom drilling and automatic hinge insertion into one machine cycle, the HG2 helps turn hinge preparation into a repeatable production process. The machine has a 1500 mm / 59 inch working field with adjustable reference stops for left and right door reference.
The first head is fixed, while the second head can be manually repositioned using a push-button brake release and digital readout. This makes the machine practical for common two-hinge cabinet-door setups without moving the customer into a full CNC drilling or hardware insertion cell.
During the automatic cycle, the HG2 drills from the bottom and uses removable hinge magazines for automatic insertion. Each head is equipped with an automatic hinge-loading magazine, and the quick-release magazine design helps support hinge changeover and production flow.
Titan sales position
Position the HG2 around door-department productivity: reduce manual hinge prep, improve hinge setback consistency, reduce operator fatigue, and stop cabinet doors from piling up at the hardware stage.
Use the HG2 when the customer needs focused hinge drilling and insertion without a full CNC hardware cell.
The HG2 should be sold through a cabinet-door workflow discussion. The value comes from removing a repeated labour step, improving setup consistency, and creating a dedicated door-hardware station.
Good: Manual Station
Best for low-volume shops using manual hinge boring, hand layout, drill press fixtures, and manual hinge pressing.
Better: SCM Omal HG2
Best for automatic two-head hinge drilling and insertion with digital setup support and a focused cabinet-door workflow.
Best: Multi-Head Insert HG
Best when the customer needs more heads, broader cabinet-fitting insertion, larger working field, or a higher-automation hardware cell.
Omal HG2 specifications without table formatting.
Final published specifications should follow the quoted Titan/Canadian configuration. Confirm hinge compatibility, magazines, drill pattern, tooling, air requirement, dust extraction, voltage, footprint, installation, startup, training, warranty, and service package before SKU-level publishing.
For shops where concealed-hinge preparation is a daily production bottleneck.
The HG2 should be sold as a practical hardware workflow improvement. The correct fit depends on door volume, hinge type, hinge count, door sizes, boring pattern, hinge magazines, air, dust extraction, and whether the customer needs two-head hinge insertion or a larger multi-head hardware system.
Strong fit for
Cabinet and panel shops that produce enough concealed-hinge doors for manual boring and pressing to become slow, inconsistent, or labour-heavy.
Confirm during quoting
The HG2 is package dependent. Final customer-facing publishing should match Titan’s quoted Canadian configuration.
