The SCM Startech CN Plus is a compact CNC drilling, grooving, sawing, and optional routing centre designed for woodworking shops that need CNC accuracy without moving into a full-size machining centre. It fits cabinet shops, closet and storage manufacturers, furniture producers, millwork shops, prototype departments, and production teams that need repeatable drilling and machining for tailored panel work.
The machine is designed around a compact footprint of approximately 5 m², making it easier to place in smaller production environments, secondary work areas, prototype departments, or tight manufacturing layouts. It is positioned between manual boring equipment and larger CNC drilling centres, giving shops a clean upgrade path from manual setup to controlled CNC production.
The Startech CN Plus supports panel sizes up to 3050 × 900 × 60 mm and down to 200 × 80 × 10 mm, with maximum X/Y/Z axis speeds of 40 / 40 / 10 m/min. Public SCM technical data lists 8 independent vertical spindles arranged 5X + 3Y, 6 horizontal spindles arranged 2 + 2X + 2Y, a 125 × 6 mm X-direction blade, spindle/blade speeds of 4200 / 5500 rpm, and an optional electrospindle speed of 18,000 rpm.
For shop-floor programming and control, the machine includes a 19-inch PC with integrated Maestro CNC software. SCM’s Startech documentation also references USB program import/export, barcode reader support for recalling stored programs, and automatic centralized lubrication managed by the control, depending on selected configuration.
