Royce Ayr 3/4" Diameter x 1-1/8" Cut 2-Flute Low Helix Up-Cut Solid Carbide Router Bit
2-Flute Low-Helix Upcut
Pocketing Router Bit
Solid-carbide low-helix upcut pocketing router bit designed for plastics, composites, MDF door components, and finish passes in solid wood. Its 3/4-inch cutting diameter, 1-1/8-inch cutting edge, 0.040-inch corner radius, 3/4-inch shank, and 4-inch overall length support controlled large-diameter pocketing with a smooth bottom transition.
Main Product Description
The Royce Ayr 2-Flute Low-Helix Upcut Pocketing Router Bit R52-74044 is developed for routing plastics and composites, pocketing MDF door components, and completing finish passes in solid wood. Its 0.7500-inch cutting diameter and 1.125-inch cutting edge provide substantial capacity for larger pockets, recessed features, and production CNC routing.
The low-helix upcut flute form carries chips upward while maintaining controlled cutting action. A 0.040-inch corner radius creates a smooth transition at the bottom of the pocket and avoids the sharp internal corner produced by square-edge geometry.
The 0.750-inch shank and 4.000-inch overall length require a compatible precision collet or approved toolholder. Collet condition, runout, tool projection, spindle direction, spindle speed, feed rate, stepover, depth per pass, workholding, and chip extraction should be established for the material and machine.
Best Fit Applications
Product Highlights
Low-Helix Upcut Geometry
Carries chips upward from the cutting zone while providing controlled pocketing action in compatible plastics, composites, MDF, and solid wood.
0.040-Inch Corner Radius
Radiused corners create a smoother pocket-bottom transition and eliminate the sharp internal corner produced by square-edge geometry.
Large-Diameter Production Format
The 3/4-inch diameter, 1-1/8-inch cutting edge, 3/4-inch shank, and 4-inch overall length suit larger CNC pocketing operations.
Compatibility & Installation Notes
Confirm that the CNC spindle or router toolholder accepts an exact 3/4-inch (19.05 mm) shank and provides sufficient clearance for the 4-inch (101.6 mm) overall length. Inspect the collet and nut, minimize unsupported tool projection, verify right-hand rotation and runout, and establish spindle speed, feed rate, stepover, depth per pass, workholding, and chip extraction according to the material, machine, and approved shop procedures.
Improve Large-Pocket Finish
The Royce Ayr 2-Flute Low-Helix Upcut Pocketing Router Bit R52-74044 provides a solid-carbide solution for pocketing plastics, composites, and MDF door components, as well as finish passes in solid wood. Its 3/4-inch diameter and 1-1/8-inch cutting edge support controlled CNC material removal in larger recessed features.
Low-helix upcut geometry supports chip evacuation, while the 0.040-inch corner radius promotes a smooth pocket-bottom transition when the tool is correctly held and operated within suitable machining parameters.
