Main Product Description

The Vortex Tool 3235C is part of the Series 3200C three-flute compression-spiral family with chipbreakers. Its upcut and downcut flute sections compress the material toward the centre of the cut, helping protect both workpiece faces while the chipbreaker edges interrupt chip formation.

Vortex specifies the Series 3200C design for plywoods and hardwoods where fuzzing or scaling is a problem. The three-flute configuration provides additional cutting-edge engagement for higher feed capability, while the chipbreaker geometry helps improve edge condition in demanding wood and laminated-panel routing.

The verified 3235C configuration uses a 1/2-inch cutting-edge diameter, 1-inch cutting-edge length, 1/2-inch shank, 3-inch overall length, 0.550-inch upcut section, three flutes, chipbreaker compression geometry, and right-hand rotation. Correct collet condition, spindle runout, projection, feed, RPM, workholding, and chip evacuation are essential to finish quality and tool life.

Product Highlights

01

Chipbreaker Edge Control

Chipbreaker cutting edges are designed to reduce fuzzing and scaling in plywoods and hardwoods where clean edge quality is difficult to maintain.

02

Three-Flute Feed Capability

The three-flute configuration provides additional cutting-edge engagement to support higher feed capability in compatible production routing.

03

Compression Cut Direction

Combined upcut and downcut flute sections compress the cut toward the workpiece centre to support clean top and bottom edges.

Compatibility & Installation Notes

Confirm a clean, undamaged 1/2-inch collet or compatible holder, correct right-hand spindle rotation, adequate shank engagement, safe tool projection, machine RPM limits, feed rate, workpiece support, workholding, and chip evacuation before use. Program the cut so the 0.550-inch upcut section and compression transition are positioned correctly within the workpiece. Final feed and speed values must be established for the machine, material, cut depth, and required finish.

Viper Plus Edge Control

Vortex Tool 3235C combines Series 3200C three-flute chipbreaker compression geometry with a verified 1/2-inch cutting diameter, 1-inch cutting length, 0.550-inch upcut, 1/2-inch shank, and 3-inch overall length.

The solid-carbide design is intended for plywood, hardwood, laminated-panel, and high-production routing applications where reduced fuzzing, reduced scaling, clean two-sided edges, and higher feed capability are important production goals.
