The Vortex Tool 5840TSA is the 3/8-inch model in the Series 5800TSA double-edge aluminum-cutting family. Vortex developed this series specifically for machining aerospace aluminum sheet after testing material grades supplied in multiple hardness conditions.

Its double-edge upcut O-flute geometry is designed to move chips upward while cutting aerospace-grade aluminum sheet. The specialized TSA geometry provides a dedicated alternative to general-purpose plastic O-flute tooling when the workpiece is aluminum.

The verified configuration uses a 3/8-inch cutting-edge diameter, 3/8-inch cutting-edge length, 3/8-inch shank, and 2-1/2-inch overall length. Correct collet condition, tool projection, workholding, programmed entry, feed, spindle speed, chip evacuation, and the selected lubrication or cooling method remain essential.
