Machine Overview

Dedicated automatic tenoning for repeatable solid-wood joinery.

SCM Formula Ten 400 and Ten 400E are focused single-end tenoners for window and door components, furniture frames, architectural millwork, rails, stiles, sash parts, and other repeat solid-wood joints.

The machine combines a 400 mm saw unit, a spindle-moulder unit with up to 360 mm tooling capacity, pneumatic workpiece clamping, a tilting worktable fence, linear carriage guidance, and repeatable support positioning.

The Ten 400 uses manual-ring tool change, while the Ten 400E adds an electrospindle with HSK 63B rapid tool change. Spindle diameter, tooling, guards, electrical, air, extraction, installation, training, and service are confirmed by quote.

Tenoning & Joinery Modes

Match the Formula Ten package to joint geometry, tooling diameter, saw requirements, spindle diameter, workholding, and setup frequency.

Mode 01

End Cutting

Use the circular-saw unit for controlled end preparation before the tenoning and profile operation.

Mode 02

Straight Tenoning

Produce repeat solid-wood tenons with dedicated workholding and mechanical carriage guidance.

Mode 03

Angled Tenoning

Tilt the worktable fence up to ±45° for angled joinery and non-square component geometry.

Mode 04

Large-Diameter Profiling

Run spindle tooling up to 360 mm diameter with 40 mm or 50 mm spindle-diameter options.

Mode 05

Rapid Tool Change

Select the Ten 400E for HSK 63B electrospindle tool change where frequent profile changes matter.

Production Advantages

Secure Clamping, Repeatable Setup & Serious Tooling Capacity

The Formula Ten platform concentrates on dependable solid-wood tenoning without turning each joint into a manual fixture project.

Three-Point Pneumatic Clamping

Two vertical pressure cylinders and one horizontal pressure cylinder secure the workpiece during the machining cycle.

Repeatable Mechanical Positioning

The carriage moves on ball-bushing linear guides, while the workpiece support uses a five-position revolver system.

Ten 400E HSK 63B Upgrade

The electrospindle option reduces manual tool-change effort for shops running multiple tenon profiles and frequent setups.

Equipment Range

Lineup Positioning

Traditional Tenoning

Manual Shaper / Saw / Jig Workflow

Suitable for lower-volume work where setup time, manual positioning, and fixture building remain acceptable.

Formula Ten 400

Dedicated Automatic Tenoner

Provides large tooling capacity, secure clamping, ±45° fence positioning, and manual-ring tool change.

Formula Ten 400E

Rapid Tool-Change Tenoner

Adds the HSK 63B electrospindle for faster profile changes and stronger repeat setup capability.

Production Environments

Where the Formula Ten 400 / Ten 400E Fits

For solid-wood manufacturers that need a dedicated automatic tenoner before moving into a broader window-and-door machining centre or automated cell.

Door & Window Joinery

Rails, stiles, sash components, frame members, entry systems, angled joints, end cuts, and repeat tenoned assemblies.

Furniture Manufacturing

Table rails, chair components, cabinet frames, solid-wood furniture parts, and repeated mortise-and-tenon construction.

Architectural Millwork

Custom frames, stair parts, heavy profiles, specialty openings, and repeat joinery requiring large tooling and angled setup capability.

Focused Automatic Tenoning

Move repeat joinery away from improvised fixtures and multi-machine setup chains.

The Formula Ten 400 / Ten 400E gives solid-wood shops a dedicated platform for end cutting, straight and angled tenons, large-diameter spindle tooling, and secure pneumatic workholding.

The standard Ten 400 is appropriate where manual-ring tool change fits the production mix. The Ten 400E is the stronger configuration where multiple profiles and frequent setup changes justify HSK 63B tool change.

Final configuration should confirm model, spindle diameter, saw and guarding package, tooling, workpiece range, joint geometry, extraction, electrical service, compressed air, floor space, installation, training, warranty, and service.
