Machine Information

The SCM Morbidelli CX210/CX220 is a compact CNC drilling centre platform designed for manufacturers that need fast, accurate panel drilling without the footprint or workflow of a full nesting CNC router. It is a strong fit for cabinet manufacturers, closet manufacturers, furniture producers, RTA and flat-pack production, office furniture manufacturers, store fixture shops, commercial casework operations, and panel-processing facilities.

The CX platform is designed for 5-side drilling, grooving, routing, connector machining, and optional dowel insertion in one controlled machining cycle. This helps reduce manual repositioning, reduce handling, improve drilling repeatability, and support cleaner batch-one production flow for high-mix cabinet and furniture parts.

The CX210 uses the F31LTC drilling head with 21 vertical spindles, 10 horizontal spindles arranged as 6 in X and 4 in Y, and an integrated 125 mm X-axis saw blade. The CX220 adds a second F21L drilling head with 13 vertical spindles and 8 horizontal spindles arranged as 6 in X and 2 in Y, allowing two drilling heads with independent Y and Z axes to machine the same panel simultaneously.

The platform handles panels from 200 to 3050 mm long, 50 to 1300 mm wide, 8 to 95 mm thick, and up to 70 kg, with maximum X/Y/Z axis speeds of 70 / 40 / 30 m/min. Optional features include a 7.5 kW electrospindle with up to 24,000 rpm, a 6-position tool changer, 0°–90° saw-blade/Clamex unit, dowel insertion devices, 3D probing, Maestro software support, and a panel return conveyor for continuous-cycle production.
